February always throws me off, because there aren’t 30 days, but this year there are 29 so that is close enough! We have had quite an eventful month around here. Here are some of the highlights:
• Hadley had two teeth break through the gums, so now she has a total of 5 teeth, 3 on top, 2 on bottom
• We have abandoned pigtails, I simply can’t fight my 24 pound child every month, she sure can trash about in a way that would suggest she has no bones in her body!
• She is in size 5 diapers and 18 month clothes (although she fits in some 9 month stuff and even wore a 0-3 month sweater a few times), she is in a size 4.5 shoe, or a size 4 in her new Toms
• She is in love with milk, she gets the recommended 20oz per day, plus some
• She got to have apple juice a few times this month, I am attempting to help her out with making her “regular”
• We lived through the dreaded hand foot mouth disease/virus. She still has a few dark places where the awful blisters were, but she is back to school and appears to be doing well
• We also had ear infection number 5, and have been referred to an ENT, so she has an appointment to discuss tubes next month.
• She is just full of personality; she really has taken to playing with the other kids at day care. She loves to wave to everybody and blow kisses as we leave daycare, or the grocery store, or any place really
• She is still obsessed with books, we read at least 5 books a day, and sometimes we read the same book 5 times a day. She has a room full of toys, but mostly just wants to pick out a book, plop down in my lap and wait to be read to
• She had lots of new food this month. She seems to really like fish and shrimp. She also LOVES broccoli and really shows a preference to fresh over frozen.
• She is mimicking everything. She can kind of say puppy and a few other words. I imagine she will just bust out talking pretty soon.
• She is a girl of routine, every night after her bath she goes to the refrigerator saying “baba,” last night she even took her bottle and stood in front of the chair we rock in.
• She is expressly on sippy cups, other than the one nighttime bottle, which I think is more for me than her…
• She is getting better at shape sorting, and really loves the piggy bank Camille got her for her birthday. She puts each coin in, and claps at herself after each one.
• Hadley celebrated her second Valentine’s Day. She had a party at school, exchanged valentines, and decorated and ate a cupcake.
• She got to see a lot of both sets of grandparents this month
Overall, it was a pretty great month!
