· Hadley had an ear infection. This made me a little upset because a week and a half ago the other doctor assured me that nothing was wrong and sent me on my way (after telling me to shut my baby up). This means this cold she had was untreated and spread to her ears. As a result Hadley is on amoxicillin for ten days.
· She has a condition called torticollis. Our new doctor, Dr. Chenn, was shocked our old doctor hadn’t said anything. To make a long story short- her neck muscle is tight on the right side. This could be a result of her positioning in the womb or because of how she tends to position herself on a daily basis- we don’t really know. What we do know is (1) good thing we switched doctors, evidently if it is not detected by the 6 month there is a pretty high chance of permanent facial defects, (2) Hadley will have to start physical therapy next week and if that isn’t successful we are looking at a helmet situation (3) this is mostly problematic because if it isn’t corrected her head will be flat on side. More on this as we begin physical therapy next week
· Hadley got her 4 month shots, she did great
· She is weighing in at 12lb 4oz, she has almost tripled her birth weight
· Dr. Chenn gave her a prescription for Prevacid, an acid reflux medication, so hopefully this will end our spit up woes
Bottom line, best switch I’ve ever made!
